The HART group is located at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. The university is nestled against the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in the Salt Lake Valley, within hours of many beautiful national parks and an even shorter trip to Utah’s famous nearby ski resorts. Public transportation is abundant and convenient through the UTA Trax and FrontRunner networks with free access provided to students. The university’s athletic and recreational facilities, community outreach resources, and arts and 怎么更改手机外网ip programs promote a student life experience conducive to inclusion and participation.

The Atmospheric Sciences department here features a diverse group of scientists working in fields ranging from mountain meteorology to cloud microphysics to air quality to fire weather and modeling. Interdisciplinary work is abundant and encouraged, providing new students opportunities to involve themselves in a range of topics that interest them.

At the HART lab, led by Dr. Gannet Hallar, students will gain hands-on experience with aerosol instrumentation through work with a variety of instruments in  a brand new aerosol monitoring lab constructed on the 8th floor of the university’s William Browning Building. Students who are interested will also have opportunities to gain field work experience through set-up and maintenance of aerosol monitoring equipment, often deployed along mountain regions, like the Atwater site at Alta Ski Resort.
